Ross Shep Cheerleading Championships 2013
Take the large gym, fill it up with gym with a loud sound system, a state-of-the-art lighting system, and the add 900 athletes and over 4000 spectactors and you have the Ross Shep Cheerleading Championships! It's a massive event and involves over 100 volunteers to run it. If you have an opportunity, you will want to check it out. Congratulations to Mr. Robertson and his organizing team for putting on such a stellar event. Welcome to all participating Elementary, Junior High and High School cheerleading teams. And a big thank you to parents, coaches and friends to making this such a great opportunity for kids!

The ladies head to Lethbridge having been ranked in the top 5 in the province all season and with high hopes for success. Good luck, T-Birds!

Co-ed Indoor Soccer and all four basketball teams have gotten underway with tryouts and early-season practices. Shep hosts Scona in Indoor Soccer on Tuesday, November 20 at the West Soccer Centre at 4:30 PM.

The girls move on as the top seed to zone crossovers with metro schools to try to earn one of 3 berths at Provincials in Lethbridge November 22-24.

Pair of Shep Athletes Get Major Recognition
Another big honour was bestowed upon one of our grade 12 students, as Ana Catuneanu received the John Bright Memorial Award last night at a banquet for nominees at the Hotel McDonald. Ana played on the senior volleyball team for three years at Shep while dedicating a great deal of time to volunteering in the community. She also maintained an honours with distinction average throughout high school, building the perfect resume for this very prestigious award.

Shep Runner Sets Provincial Record with Double Gold
A big congratulations to Ian Harriott for his double gold performance at the Track & Field Provincial Championships. Ian sprinted to victory in the 200 metre and 400 metre events for his age category, missing out on the 400 metre record by just 0.01 seconds and by setting a personal best and Alberta Provincial record with a 21.84 second run. Ian was focused on his goal of setting the 200m record and beat the previous record by almost 3 tenths of a second.

STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CATCH A RIDE WITH OTHER STUDENTS UNTIL PROPER FORMS HAVE BEEN SIGNED.
